Carlin Springs Road Bridge Completed In Arlington
Construction officials are celebrating the completion of the Carlin Springs Road Bridge replacement in Arlington.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Carlin Springs Road Bridge in Arlington, which goes over North George Mason Drive, is officially complete.
Construction began back in November 2017 and has now finally wrapped up, ahead of schedule and under budget, according to the Arlington Department of Environmental Services.
There are still a few remaining work items, such as installing new street lights and some landscaping, but the construction of the bridge is complete.

"While still structurally sound, the Carlin Springs Road Bridge over North George Mason Drive has shown the greatest deterioration of any County-owned bridge," Arlington County said in the original description of the project. "We will undertake a complete replacement of the existing bridge, with the rehabilitation project focusing on much-needed structural improvements and new safety features for drivers, pedestrians and bikers."
Locals can now enjoy wider sidewalks, bike lanes, four-vehicle travel lanes, and enhanced lighting both on and under the bridge.
