Girl Sexually Assaulted After Man Breaks Into Arlington Home: Police

Arlington County police determined a girl was touched inappropriately early Wednesday morning after the suspect entered her home.

ARLINGTON, VA — A girl was sexually assaulted in her home by an intruder in the Ashton Heights neighborhood of Arlington early Wednesday morning, according to police.

Shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Arlington County police were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of North Glebe Road in response to a report of suspicious circumstances. Officers said that shortly after 1 a.m., the girl was awakened after the suspect entered her home and touched her inappropriately.

The girl kicked the suspect and he left the home. The suspect then returned a short time later, attempted to convince the victim to leave with him. But he fled the scene after she refused, according to police.

The suspect is described as a "white and/or Hispanic male," 25 to 45 years old, with dark hair and wearing a white shirt and light-colored shorts, police said.
