GMU To Overhaul Arlington Campus: Report
George Mason University reportedly wants to change the Arlington campus into an "innovation district."

ARLINGTON, VA — George Mason University has big plans for its Arlington campus located in Virginia Square, and it's related to Amazon's move into the county, according to a report.
The Washington Business Journal reports that GMU wants to transform the campus into an "innovation district," which would involve a new building that would be home to the Institute for Digital Innovation and Mason's School of Computing, which were part of the pitch to get Amazon to tap Arlington as its new second home.
The expansion could add as many as 4,000 new graduate students by 2024, and it would provide space to tech start-ups on campus and corporate innovation labs for companies.
