Man Arrested For Attempted Armed Rape In Arlington Home
A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a woman's apartment and trying to rape her at knifepoint in the Arlington Mill neighborhood.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a woman's apartment and trying to rape her at knifepoint in the Arlington Mill neighborhood, police said.
Police arrested Jermaine Johnson, 30, of Arlington and charged him with attempted rape and burglary.
The incident happened in the 800 block of S. Frederick Street at 8 a.m. April 20, police said.

The victim told police that an unknown male forced entry into her residence, brandished a knife and attempted to sexually assault her. She suffered minor physical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, police said.
The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. Detectives developed a suspect description based on crime scene evidence collected and witness interviews. Johnson was deemed a suspect on Saturday.

Police increased patrols in the neighborhood after the event. Patrolling officers observed Johnson flee from a residence while conducting surveillance in the 1700 block of N. Troy Street Saturday, police said.
Following a foot pursuit, Johnson was apprehended and taken into police custody. He has been charged with attempted rape and burglary and will be held in the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond.
