NY Woman Busted On Narcotics Charge In Pentagon City: Police
While investigating a possible robbery at a Pentagon City residence, police arrested a New York woman on a narcotics violation, reports say.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police responding to a possible robbery in Pentagon City on Wednesday instead found their were investigating a narcotics violation that ended with a New York woman being arrested, according to authorities.
Officers were dispatched around 3:08 p.m. for the report of a possible robbery inside a residence in 1600 block of South Eads Street. A brief investigation revealed that the three occupants of the residence, who all knew each other, had been invoved in a dispute before contacting police.
After detaining the three residents, the officers recovered suspected narcotics and arrested 23-year-old Nayarett Ramirez-Yanez of Valley Stream, New York, according to the incident report. Ramirez-Yanez was charged with possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance and held without bond.

On Thursday morning, Ramirez-Yanez was arraigned in Arlington General District Court and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 23, according to court records.

The possession of a Schedule I/II controlled substance charge is a Class 5 felony, under the Code of Virginia. If convicted, Ramirez-Yanez faces a possible sentence of one to 10 years in prison and/or a fine up to $2,500.
