Pentagon City Mall Shut Down Due To Multiple Fights: Arlington Police
An officer and a security guard suffered minor injuries, and 3 juveniles were detained, police said.
ARLINGTON, VA — A police officer and a mall security guard suffered injuries Saturday dealing with multiple fights and a large crowd that led Arlington County police to shut down the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City.
Arlington County police said the officer and the security guard suffered minor injuries. Three juveniles were detained, police said, and one of the three had minor injuries.
Police were called to the 1100 block of South Hayes Street for a report of multiple fights just after 7 p.m. according to a post on X from Arlington Alerts that was shared by Arlington County Police.

By 7:30 p.m. they ordered the mall to shut down and forced people to leave. The mall normally closes at 9 p.m.
"Police responded to the 1100 block of S. Hayes Street for the report of multiple fights in the area. At the direction of ACPD, the mall is now closed. Police remain on scene. Please avoid the area," the tweet said.

Multiple videos show people milling around and police directing them to leave the mall and a large police presence outside the mall.
Police remained on the scene late Saturday night.
