Lucy Loves: Where Vintage Meets Modern
To find Lucy Loves, the new vintage store in Old Town Fairfax, you'll need to navigate a narrow alleyway and climb a set of tiger-skin covered stairs. Inside, the shop is filled with an eclectic collection of old clothing on hangers, coffee cans, books, milk bottles, and porcelain figures interspersed with handmade pottery, jewelry, rugs, and other items created by local vendors.
Gardening Club Keeps Residents Active, In High Spirits
While most of the grounds at Arbour Terrace of Herndon are maintained by a professional landscaping company, the raised garden beds behind the senior living center are tended by a group of residents. The beds are located behind the center's dining hall, where residents can enjoy views of the gardens through the windows.

Little League Team Sweeps Southeast Regional Tournament
A Vienna Little League made the town proud as they went undefeated to win a southeast regional tournament, bringing the championship banner home to Vienna. This was the third time a Vienna Little League team won a southeast regional tournament, with the other times being in 1972 and 2022.
VA State Police Competes For Spot In 2024 Trooper Cruiser Calendar
The Virginia State Police tried hard to get featured in "America's Best Looking Trooper Cruisers 2024 Wall Calendar" after winning a spot in the inaugural calendar 10 years ago. The Virginia State Police’s entry in the best-looking trooper cruiser competition received 6,832 votes, putting it in 23rd place. The top 13 finishers will be featured in the 2024 wall calendar.
'Ms. Pompeii' To Retire From Simon Children's Center
After 60 years in education, Pompeii Ferrer, known as "Miss Pompeii" by her class of 4-year-olds at Robert E. Simon Jr. Children's Center, plans to retire. Leila Kaszubunski, the preschool's director, told Patch that Ferrer is a creative teacher, who loves music and has fun dancing with her students and helping them learn how to write the letters of their names.

745 acres in a county are now in a conservation easement, thanks to JK Land Holdings and the Old Dominion Land Conservancy. The land includes property along the Potomac River, farms, forest, and historic areas.
