Stolen Ambulance Hits 10 Vehicles Including Virginia State Police Car
The stolen ambulance was pursued by state police north on I-395 into Washington, D.C., where it crashed into 10 vehicles.
ARLINGTON, VA — Virginia State Police say a man stole an Arlington County Fire Department ambulance while trying to flee the scene of a 10-car pileup on Interstate 395 Saturday. from the Arlington County Police Department crashed into at least 10 other vehicles on Interstate 395 including a state police car.

At 3:41 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of I-395 near Exit 10 in Arlington County when a man involved in the crash stole an Arlington County Fire Department ambulance that had responded to the scene and used it to flee.

The stolen ambulance continued north on I-395 with state police in pursuit, assisted by the Arlington County Police Department. During the pursuit, the ambulance struck at least 10 vehicles, including a Virginia State Police car.
The pursuit continued into Washington, D.C., where the ambulance came to a stop after crashing into another vehicle.

The driver was taken into custody.
There were no serious injuries reported.
The pursuit and hit-and-run crashes are all under investigation.
