ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County police are looking for a man on an electric scooter who they say sexually assaulted a woman early Friday morning in the Penrose area.

Officers responded around 1 a.m. to the report of a suspicious person in the 2400 block of Columbia Pike. A preliminary investigation revealed that a woman was walking in the area when she was approached by a man who struck up a conversation with her. While they were talking, the man inappropriately touched her buttocks, according to police.

After the victim told the man she was going to contact the police, he pulled out a knife, knocked her cellphone out of her hands, and fled the area, ACPD reported. The officers searched the area but failed to locate the suspect.
