19-year-old Charged with Felony after Eluding Deputy at Traffic Stop
A 19-year-old was charged with felony eluding and reckless driving after reportedly speeding away from a deputy near Denizen Plaza Saturday.
A deputy observed a vehicle traveling in a reckless manner Saturday at the 45900 block of Denizen Plaza in Sterling. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and the driver reportedly began to flee.
The vehicle continued to speed and exited onto the Algonkian Parkway exit when the deputy lost contact with the vehicle. It was later located and the driver was identified.

Melvin A. Zelaya, 19, of Sterling, was charged with felony eluding, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, inadequate exhaust system and defective equipment.
