
Grace Estelle Jones, 84, formerly of Oakton and McLean before moving to Leesburg in 1986, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Washington, DC, to the late Lawrence Hubbard and Ida G. Sparshott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edgar K. Jones Jr. and a sister, Anne Sheleva.
Mrs. Jones was raised in Arlington, VA, and graduated from Washington Lee High School. Following WWII she married the love of her life, Edgar. Over the years she handled the books for her husband’s wall and ceiling contracting business, Edgar K. Jones Jr. Inc. that is still in operation by the family today. She loved quilting, cooking and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her four children: Diane Littleton and her husband George of Ashburn, VA, Bonnie Myer and her husband Larry of Montpelier, VT, Pam Rose and her husband John of Bealeton, VA, and Edgar K Jones III of Sterling, VA; a sister, Jean Burke of Ft. Myers, FL; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and host of other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, in Leesburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Loudoun Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Diabetes Association, 1025 Connecticut Avenue NW, Suite 5, Washington, DC 20036.
