James served as a deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was an active member and participated in bible study, Senior Choir, Men's Choir and vacation bible school. He was extremely dedicated and often spent many hours cleaning and caring for the church grounds.

James loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren. They enjoyed babysitting and going out to eat together. He also drove the grandchildren to school and helped when he could. We will miss him dearly.
