Join the Ashburn's American Legion Post 2001

If you are currently on active duty, or have served honorably during wartime or armed conflict, it’s very likely you qualify for American Legion membership. Join with us to help our community, fellow veterans locally and our nation’s Wounded Warriors.

We advocate strong National Security, taking care of our Nation’s Veterans [Did you know it was the American Legion, not the government, that wrote the original G.I Bill?], mentoring youth and promoting Patriotism & Honor — Americanism is our business!

Our post sponsors ongoing major programs, such as the Boys State & Girls State delegate program where we annually sponsor up to ten young men and women for a week near Richmond where they learn about and interact with the Commonwealth’s government and elected leaders. These rising high school seniors learn life lessons about government process by playing a direct role in government operations each summer. Another program involves sponsorship of the Ashburn Knights Baseball team initiated in early 2011. These young athletes are selected from the Ashburn area high schools: Broad Run, Stone Bridge, Freedom and Briar Woods. Our community’s youth are second to none! Our most recent Post involvement is in support of the newly-initiated effort to build a very unique facility, Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors ~ right here in Loudoun County!
