Mary Millett Simmons, 92

Mary Millett Simmons, 92, of Leesburg, VA, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Spring Arbor of Leesburg, VA.

Mary was born Sunday, Aug. 22, 1920, in Utica, NY. She was the only child of the late Frank Millett and the late Lulu May Archibald Millett.

Mary was a registered nurse and worked with Arlington Hospital as a head nurse for many years until retiring in 1996. Following her retirement, she continued nursing in the acute care unit of the Halquist Memorial Capital Hospice in Arlington, VA.

She is survived by her three children, Eric Charles Simmons of Magnolia, DE, daughter, Janet Lynn Rhudy, of Ashburn, VA, and David Bruce Simmons, of Alexandria, VA; as well as seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, in Leesburg with the Rev. Cary Johnson officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date in Salem, MA.
