Mary Virginia Funk, 82, formerly of Loudoun County, died Monday, March 11, 2013, in Warrenton, VA. Mrs. Funk was born July 27, 1930, in Rector Town, VA, to the late Layman H. and Annie May Shaull Grimes. Her husband Norman Funk, a step-son Robert Funk and two step-grandchildren also predeceased her. Mrs. Funk retired from Housekeeping at Loudoun Hospital in 1993 and continued working with the Laurel Brigade in Leesburg until 1997. She lived in Middleburg until 1980 when she moved to Leesburg. She most recently lived at Oak Springs Nursing Home in Warrenton.
Mr. Funk is survived by a stepson: Lewis Funk (Carol) of Aiken, SC; her two sisters: Stella Powell of Leesburg and Peggy Johnson of Aldie, VA; three step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, until services begin at 11 a.m. at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, in Leesburg, with Mr. Ray Pitcher officiating. Interment will follow in Leesburg Union Cemetery.
