Ann Romney Visiting Sterling Monday to Campaign for Gillespie, Comstock

The wife of 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney will appear at a "get out the vote" rally in Sterling Monday.

Ann Romney is set to appear at a “get out the vote” rally Monday, Nov. 3 in Sterling to back U.S. Senate candidate Ed Gillespie and House candidate Barbara Comstock.

The wife of 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney has ties to the two candidates aside from party affiliation. Gillespie worked as an advisor to Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign while Comstock worked on his 2008 presidential bid and acted as his Virginia campaign co-chair in 2012. Romney also headlined a fundraiser for Comstock earlier this year and has hosted two events for Gillespie.

Comstock is favored to win against John Foust, a Fairfax County supervisor, for the 10th Congressional District seat being vacated by retiring Rep. Frank Wolf (R). Gillespie, on the other hand, is not favored to win in his run against incumbent Sen. Mark R. Warner (D), The Washington Post reports.
