Suspect Charged With Murder In Teen's Shooting Was Out On Bond In Sex Case
The suspect charged with first-degree murder in the death of a teen boy found in an Ashburn grocery store parking lot had been out on bond.

ASHBURN, VA — The suspect charged in the homicide of a teenage boy found in an Ashburn grocery store parking lot had been out on bond for a prior unrelated sex offense.
Fadlalla Mohamed, 19, of Ashburn, is charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony after the death of a 16-year-old boy. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office arrested Mohamed Sunday, and he is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
But before that, Mohamed was granted bond for another offense. In a statement, Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney Bob Anderson said Mohamed appeared in Loudoun County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court on March 3 for a bond motion. The charge was for consensual intercourse with a minor aged 15 or more, which is considered a class 1 misdemeanor. Court documents indicate the offense happened on Feb. 16.

"Despite the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s vigorous objection, a $1,000 unsecured bond was granted by the Court in that case," the prosecutor's office said in the statement.
The sheriff's office had responded to a call about an injured person in a vehicle around 5:58 p.m. Saturday outside the Harris Teeter in the 43300 block of Southern Walk Plaza in the Broadlands neighborhood. Deputies provided aid to the victim, but the 16-year-old victim died of his injuries. The victim's name is not being released due to his age.

According to the sheriff's office, the incident was initially reported as a stabbing. However, the investigation determined it was a shooting that happened at another location — the 43000 block of Hillmont Terrace in the Broadlands neighborhood.
The sheriff's office believes another person brought the victim to the Southern Walk Plaza, as the victim was found injured in the passenger seat. That person who drove the victim is not being considered a suspect.
The Commonwealth's Attorney's office said it could not comment further on pending cases against Mohamed.
