Ashburn, Loudoun 2025 Election Voter Guide: Candidates, How To Vote
Ashburn and Loudoun County voters will cast ballots for local and state races and decide bond questions. Here's what voters need to know.

ASHBURN, VA — On Tuesday, voters in Ashburn and the rest of Loudoun County will cast their ballots in the November general election for state and local races. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. across Virginia on Tuesday.
All Loudoun County voters have Virginia governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, as well as a Virginia House of Delegates seat, on the ballot. In the governor's race, Democrat Abigail Spanberger and Republican Winsome Earle-Sears are running. Democrat Ghazala Hashmi and Republican John Reid are running for lieutenant governor, and Democrat Jay Jones and Republican incumbent Jason Miyares are running for attorney general.
Some districts — Algonkian, Broad Run, Dulles, Leesburg and Sterling — will have Loudoun County School Board seats on the ballot. The Loudoun County School Board has moved to staggered terms, so five of the nine seats are up for election in 2025.

Incumbents April Chandler and Arben Istrefi are running against challengers in the Algonkian and Sterling Districts, respectively, and Leesburg District's Lauren Shernoff is unopposed. Newcomers will be chosen in the Broad Run and Dulles Districts, as incumbents Linda Deans and Chair Melinda Mansfield are not running.
The Towns of Middleburg and Round Hill elections are on the ballot within those towns.

There are also Loudoun County bond questions on school projects, parks and recreation and public safety projects, and transportation projects on the ballot.

The deadline for voter registration or updating your information was Oct. 24. However, same-day registration available in Virginia beyond the registration deadline allows voters to cast a provisional ballot. Check your registration status through the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal.
To vote on Election Day, head to your assigned polling place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Use the Virginia Department of Elections citizen portal to find your polling place. An acceptable form of ID is required to vote in person.
The Loudoun County Office of Elections says people with disabilities or mobility issues can vote from their car. Voters can pull up to the curbside voting sign at their polling place, and polling place workers will assist.
Some voters already cast ballots through early voting or mail-in ballots. The deadline to return a mail ballot is 7 p.m. on Nov. 4. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 4 and received by noon on the Friday following the election. Completed ballots can be returned by mail, at a 24/7 drop box at the Office of Elections at 750 Miller Drive, Suite 150, Leesburg, or at any polling place on Election Day.
