Free Admission Weekend, Activities To Follow Ashburn Recreation Center Opening
Following the opening of the Ashburn Recreation and Community Center, there will be several days of free admission and activities.

UPDATE: Due to the inclement weather forecast, the ribbon cutting will be moved indoors in the gymnasium.
ASHBURN, VA — The opening celebration of the Ashburn Recreation and Community Center will continue into the weekend, as free admission and activities for children and adults alike are planned.
Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services will host a ribbon cutting for the new recreation and community center at 21105 Coopers Hawk Drive in Ashburn at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. After the grand opening, the center will be open for public tours and membership sales through 9:30 p.m.

Free admission and special activities will follow on Friday, Aug. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 3.

- Tours: Take a guided tour from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. all weekend. Guests can learn about PRCS Connect, fall activities and birthday party package.
- Sesory Room tours: Explore the Sensory Room with tours scheduled throughout the weekend. Socks are required to enter.
- Outdoor activities: Enjoy moon bounces, lawn games, Gaga Ball, and Spike Ball from Friday to Sunday.
- Fitness and sports: Join open gym sessions, basketball, badminton, pickleball, volleyball and futsal. The center will also host skills contests and interactive floor demonstrations.
- Pool and aquatic events: Dive into the competition and leisure pools, meet the lifeguards and learn about aquatic hiring opportunities.
- Fitness classes: Join a variety of fitness classes, including water aerobics, yoga, Zumba and more. Class sizes are limited, so sign up 30 minutes prior at the front desk.
- Demonstration kitchen: Try delicious culinary creations with live cooking demonstrations featuring stuffed peppers, vegan Caesar salad, smoothie bowls, tomato, crab, and corn Chesapeake, homemade granola and more.
- Food trucks: Food is available for purchase from a selection of food trucks, including Kona Ice, ResQ BBQ and Lupitas Taqueria.
- Children's activities: Engage your little ones with activities like Movers & Grovers, Mini Maestros and Scribble Art. Preschool information sessions are available throughout the weekend.
- Tie-Dye Shirt Making: Create a tie-dye masterpiece with 100 shirts available each day.
The new two-story center features a 50-meter competition pool, leisure pool, spa, the Loudoun County parks and recreation system's largest full-size gymnasium, a sensory room, multipurpose room with a teaching kitchen, licensed preschool and childcare classrooms, offices and meeting spaces. The indoor basketball gymnasium will have twelve basketball hoops and include game line markings for basketball, badminton, pickleball and volleyball.


The second floor hosts fitness areas, a running track, a dedicated cycling studio, spectator seating for the competition pool and a viewing area for the leisure pool. The center also has a recovery room with hydromassage and cryo lounges, Normatec compression, and red light therapy.
A multi-use trail is located outside along with a large courtyard with seating, a splash play area and a playground for children aged 2 to 12 years.
Classes and programs will start to be offered in fall 2025. Offerings can be viewed on PRCS Connect, and sign-ups will start on Aug. 7. Enrollment for preschool is now open, and child care enrollment is expected to start in the late summer.
Admission to the Ashburn Recreation and Community Center will be $8 for adults up to 54, $6 for seniors 55 and up, $6 for children 3 to 17, and free for children 2 and under.
