Battle for a Better Cause to Honor Madison Small

The 2015 Battle for a Better Cause will use the rivalry between the Broad Run Spartans and Briar Wood Falcons to raise money for supporting meningitis awareness on September 25th.

Every year, the team unites to raise money for a cause close to their hearts. For 2015, the teams are paying a tribute to Madison Small, an 18-year-old Broad Run senior and member of the varsity softball team.

Small passed away on April 7, 2015 from meningitis bacteria, according to autopsy reports.

T-shirts will be white and pink with “We Play for 24,” and her name on the back and “Battle for a Better Cause 2015” on the front.

During the game, this year’s Marching Spartans will provide pep music for the fans and stick with us for the Marching Spartans debut performance of “A Pirate’s Revenge” during the post-game show!
