Camila Alves, Wife Of Matthew McConaughey, Describes 'Chaos' Of Lufthansa Flight
Alves, the wife of actor Matthew McConaughey, was on board a flight diverted to Dulles on Wednesday due to severe turbulence.

DULLES, VA — Camila Alves, the wife of Oscar Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, took to Instagram this week to describe the chaos onboard Lufthansa flight LH469 before it was diverted to Dulles International Airport due to severe turbulence.
Alves, a Brazilian model and designer, shared video of items and food strewn about the plane's cabin after the flight "encountered brief but severe turbulence about 90 minutes after takeoff" Wednesday, Lufthansa confirmed in an email to the Washington Post.
"On (the) Flight last night, I was told (the) plane dropped almost 4,000 feet, 7 people went to the hospital, Everything was flying everywhere," Alves wrote.

She continued, calling the experience "chaos."
Lufthansa flight LH469 was traveling to Frankfurt from Austin, Texas, when it was diverted to Dulles after experiencing significant turbulence, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority spokesperson Rob Yingling told Patch.

The plane landed around 9:10 p.m., Yingling said. Seven people were taken to nearby hospitals with minor injuries, he added.
Susan Zimmerman of Austin was among the passengers onboard the flight during the incident, she told CNN.
"During dinner service, there suddenly was a wind shear, the plane increased altitude, then we fell 1,000 feet," she told CNN. "It was like unexpectedly free-falling for five seconds off the top of a rollercoaster, plates and glassware were up at the ceiling, and my purse from the floor flew behind me to the right."
It's unclear if McConaughey was on the flight with Alves, but she noted in her post that she and the "Dallas Buyer's Club" actor made it to the hotel bar with one minute to spare.
