Molestation Of 12-Year-Old Leads To Man's Sentence In Loudoun County
The sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl has led to a prison sentence for a man, Loudoun County prosecutors say.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A man has been sentenced in Loudoun County Thursday in a child molestation case, according to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney.
David Clements, Jr., 45, had been convicted in Loudoun County Circuit Court on one count of aggravated sexual Battery (victim less than 13 years of age), one count of possession of child pornography, and three counts of possession of child pornography, 2nd offense. On Thursday, a judge sentenced Clements to 15 years in prison, and Clements will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and her family, and we hope this outcome will aid in their healing," said Commonwealth's Attorney Bob Anderson in a statement. "Our office prioritizes the protection of the community, particularly children, who are our most vulnerable members."

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office received a sexual assault report from the victim's mother in January. An investigation found Clements sexually molested the 12-year-old girl, prosecutors say. The victim and Clements are known to each other.

As detectives arrested Clements, they found child sexual abuse materials on his electronic devices. There were no explicit images of the 12-year-old victim.

The victim's mother testified in court that "she will never be free from the memory of these events."
Clements's 15-year active sentence resulted from a 55-year sentence with 40 years suspended. The suspended sentence is conditional on completion of 10 years of intensive supervised probation.
