A man wanted for a weekend murder in Washington, D.C., was found dead of a self-inflicted injury Wednesday in Ashburn, say authorities.

ASHBURN, VA — A man wanted for a murder that took place last weekend in Washington, D.C., was found dead of a self-inflicted wound Wednesday, June 19, following a six-hour standoff with police in the 22600 block of Lamoreaux Landing Square, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Peter Nhek Neth, 30, was wanted in the June 15 shooting death of Richfield Chang, 37, at a home in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE. According to Metropolitan Police, Chang and a woman were found in the home, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. NBC4 reported that the woman was Chang's girlfriend, and that they had planned to marry.
Neth was confirmed to be at the Ashburn residence by the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, which was assisted by Loudoun County deputies. During the standoff, according to LCSO spokesman Kraig Troxell, no contact ever was made between police and Neth.

Eventually, Troxell said, police sent a robot into the home and Neth's body was found. Authorities would not say how Neth killed himself.
Troxell said the people who live at the home had a familial connection to Neth, who was the only person there during the standoff.
