Fatal Wreck on Loudoun Parkway in Ashburn: Police
Car carrying six people was struck by a truck in an intersection early Friday, according to Virginia State Police.

ASHBURN, VA — One person was killed and five others were injured in a wreck early Friday morning on the Loudoun County Parkway, according to Virginia State Police.
At 1:19 a.m., a 2006 Ford pickup truck was traveling north on the parkway and allegedly failed to stop at a red light at the intersection with Gloucester Parkway. A 1997 Toyota sedan was heading west on Gloucester and had the green light when it was struck by the truck.
A passenger in the sedan, an adult female, was transported to Fairfax Inova Hospital, where she died Friday morning. The driver of the car and five other passengers suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious, according to Corinne Geller, a State Police spokesperson.

The driver of the pickup truck, Nakia P. Wilkerson, was transported to Lansdowne Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life threatening. Wilkerson was charged for failing to obey a traffic light.
