Loudoun County Public Schools Change Weather Status For Jan. 9
After three days of closures, Loudoun County Public Schools will have another adjusted weather status on Thursday.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — After three days of closures, Loudoun County Public Schools students will have another day off.
LCPS said it would no longer have a two-hour delay and instead be closed on Thursday, Jan. 9. Administrative offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Loudoun County School Board meeting at 4 p.m. will proceed.
The school district cited conditions on neighborhood roads and sidewalks with freezing and icy conditions after sunset.

The decision came after schools had reopened for after-school activities at 4 p.m. Wednesday. LCPS will decide by noon Thursday if after-school activities will occur.
Monday's winter storm brought days of road clearing. Even as roads were cleared, it took more time to clear neighborhood roads as well as sidewalks. According to the National Weather Service, there is another chance of a winter storm Saturday into Sunday.
