Loudoun County Transit Increases Fares For Some Bus Routes In December
Fares will again increase for the commuter buses that take riders from Loudoun County to employment centers.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The cost of a trip will increase for Loudoun County residents taking the commuter buses to Arlington and D.C. employment centers.
On Dec. 1, the on-way fare for Loudoun County Transit's commuter bus routes will increase by $1. The one-way price will become $12 for transactions with a SmarTrip card and $13 with cash. The commuter bus applies to the routes that serve Crystal City, Rosslyn, the Pentagon and Washington, D.C. from Loudoun County.
The transit service cited increasing operational costs as a reason for the fare increase. The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors had approved the upcoming increase during the Transit Summit in May 2024. Commuter bus fares had last increased by $1 on Dec. 2, 2024 to $11 for SmarTrip transactions and $12 for cash.
