1925 Equestrian Estate Is Loudoun County's Most Expensive Home Sale Of 2024
A nearly century-old equestrian estate in Loudoun County became the county's most expensive home sale of the year at $15.5 million.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — An equestrian estate dating back nearly 100 years has become Loudoun County's most expensive home sale of the year.
Washington Fine Properties said the Bolinvar Stone Manor property at 36987 Mountville Road north of the Town of Middleburg closed for $15.5 million, which was the highest price of any Loudoun County home sale in 2024.
Bolinvar Stone Manor dates back to 1925 and was last sold in 2008. This year, it was listed for $15.5 million for 325 acres as well as $9.5 million for 100 acres. It went under contract in late September for the full acreage at the asking price.

Debbie Meighan of Washington Fine Properties represented the buyers.
"Bolinvar is a very important sale for the countryside and for the local community," said Meighan. "With ever encroaching development, it is more crucial than ever that these great estates remain intact. And these buyers are dedicated to that."

According to Washington Fine Properties, the Bolinvar Stone Manor exemplifies the style of Hunt Country estates and showcases the area's equine history. The home has 22 rooms across four levels, including seven bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two powder rooms. Highlights of the 10,629-square-foot home are two courtyard-style stables with 33 stalls, two outdoor riding arenas with 16 stalls, 11 fireplaces, picturesque gardens, a heated pool overlooking the fields and a location along Goose Creek.
