Missing Elderly Man Found Safe In Sterling: UPDATE

UPDATE: A missing 87-year-old man with a cognitive impairment has been found safe in Sterling, say police.

UPDATE (April 24, 4:55 p.m.): Vandergriek has been found and is safe, according to Virginia State Police.

STERLING, VA—Police are looking for a missing man with a cognitive impairment not seen since around 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (via Virginia State Police). Albert Vandergriek, 87, is white, 6-2, 195 pounds with white hair and blue eyes.

Wearing a white shirt with gray pants, he was last seen at Providence Village Drive in Sterling driving a white 2004 Subaru station wagon with Virginia tags ZJ-2363. Anyone with information is urged to call the LCSO at 703-777-1021 or dial 911.
