Mobile Hope’s Back to School Shopping Event Helps Loudoun’s Invisible Youth

Event also features voter registration and Medicaid enrollment.

LEESBURG, VA - Mobile Hope is hosting a back to school “shopping event” to assist homeless, precariously housed, and other struggling and invisible Loudoun youth. The Mobile Hope bus and headquarters will be open for children, 24 years of age or younger, to “shop” for back to school necessities such as clothing, personal hygiene items and school supplies. Students will receive a backpack filled with a starter kit of school supplies and coupons from Hair Cuttery. Also volunteers from the League of Women Voters Loudoun County will be registering parents and youth 18 and over to vote. In addition, a representative will be available to register or re-enroll children and their families for Medicaid.

WHY

Mobile Hope is a Loudoun-based nonprofit that supports the needs of more than 300 precariously housed, homeless and at risk youth living in Loudoun County each month. Through a network of partnerships, Mobile Hope provides access for this fragile population to daily essentials—food, clothes, hygiene products, school supplies, medical support services, books, toys and referrals to other organizations—at its headquarters and through the Mobile Hope bus.
