More Construction Site Thefts Reported in Aldie, Ashburn
An air conditioning unit and a water heater were reportedly stolen from two construction sites in Aldie and Ashburn this week.

Unknown subject(s) reportedly removed an air conditioning unit from a home under construction at the 42200 block of Winning Glory Drive in Aldie. The incident was reported Monday, Nov. 3 at 9:30 a.m.
Unknown subject(s) reportedly removed a water heater from another home under construction at the 42600 block of Paradise Spring Circuit in Ashburn. The incident was reported Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 10:47 a.m.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office says construction site thefts are becoming an alarmingly common trend in the region. In the first two months of 2014, there were 29 reported larcenies from construction sites. In October, copper wiring was reported missing from multiple construction sites in Ashburn and Aldie.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to report any suspicious activity seen at construction sites, particularly after hours. Items commonly targeted by the thieves include tools, building materials and copper. The thieves typically enter unfinished homes where materials and appliances are often left unsecured.
