A motorist discovered a hole in the passenger side of their vehicle Friday after hearing a loud noise in the Whitewater Drive area.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a hole that mysteriously appeared in the passenger side of a car in Sterling Friday.

A motorist driving in the Whitewater Drive and Levee Way area around 1:50 p.m. Friday heard a loud noise and discovered a hole in the passenger side door of the vehicle.

The hole is believed to be caused by a discharged round from a firearm or a high-powered pellet gun. Officials search the area but nothing was located.
