Phone Scams: Person Calling is Not a Loudoun Deputy

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has received three reports of callers claiming to be with the LCSO.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s (LCSO) office has received three reports of callers claiming to be with the LCSO in Loudoun County on September 16th.

One resident, at the 40500 block Barclay Ct. Leesburg, reported receiving a call from a person claiming to be with the LSCO.

The caller claimed the resident missed jury duty but the resident recognized the call as a potential scam and no personal information was provided.

Another resident, at the 22500 block Wilderness Acres Cir. Leesburg, reported receiving a voicemail from a person claiming to be with the LCSO.

A similar call was made on September 17th to a home in the block of 42200 block Bliss Terrace in. Ashburn. A resident received a call from a person claiming to be with the LCSO.

The caller claimed the resident missed jury duty and that a warrant had been issued for their arrest. The resident was advised they needed to pay a fine or they would be arrested. The victim obtained money cards and provided the information to the caller.
