ALDIE, VA—Police are investigating "a possible hate crime" Thursday outside a home in the 24600 block of Black Willow Drive, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. A resident reported finding racial slurs, a swastika and phallic symbols drawn in the snow of a neighbor's yard.
When police located the homeowner, she said she went for a walk with her dog around 3:30 p.m. and didn't see the images in the snow until she was alerted by a neighbor. Police canvassed the area and found no other similar markings nearby. LCSO spokesman Kraig Troxell said Friday the homeowner is not a minority. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-777-0407.
