Last Major Cherry Blossom Event, Other Festivals This Weekend In DC, NoVA

Watch for rain in the forecast amid events like the Spring Garden Market, International Food Festival, Blossom Fest and more.

VIRGINIA — Cherry blossom festivities will start to wrap up this weekend, but residents attending outdoor events should be aware of rain in the forecast.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival runs through April 13, and the last major events are the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday and Sakura Matsuri: Japanese Street Festival on Saturday and Sunday. There is a cost to secure seating at the parade.

Other notable events this weekend are Spring Garden Market at River Farm in Fort Hunt, Festival of Spring at Burnside Farms in Nokesville, DC Beer Fest in D.C., LoCo Wine Festival in Aldie, Asia in a Bite Festival in Ashburn, Springfield Town Center Blossom Fest in Springfield, Thrift World Expo in Fredericksburg and International Food Festival in Manassas.

Be sure to check the weather forecast if you will be spending time outdoors. The National Weather Service said Friday brings showers and a high temperature near 53 in D.C. Temperatures will drop to 42 at night as a strong likelihood of showers continues. On Saturday, expect scattered showers in D.C. with a high near 50 and isolated showers at night. Sunday's forecast looks partly sunny with a high of 62 and partly cloudy at night with temperatures dropping to 46.
