Star Wars-Themed Run The Greenway To Cause Road Closures Around Dulles Greenway
The upcoming Run the Greenway will mean the Dulles Greenway toll road will be closed to vehicles for several hours.

ASHBURN, VA — The force will be with the athletes running and rolling the Dulles Greenway with a Star Wars-themed race on Saturday, May 4. Road closures will be in effect around the Dulles Greenway toll road during Run the Greenway.
Because this is the fourth annual race and takes place on May 4, it's only natural that Run the Greenway 5K and 10K is Star Wars themed this year. The race will draw 2,000 participants to run (or roll for wheelchair users) along the Dulles Greenway.
Participation options include 5K, 10K, 800-meter Kids Fun Run and 5K Roll option. Dulles Greenway worked with Arc of Loudoun to make Run the Greenway a wheelchair accessible race two years ago, but medals and prizes for wheelchair participants will be introduced for the first time.

Westbound Dulles Greenway will be closed between Route 28 and Route 772 (Ashburn Village Boulevard exit) from about 4:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. The eastbound direction will remain open to vehicular traffic.
Other planned closures include the following exits onto the Dulles Greenway:
- Rt. 28 North on ramp to the Dulles Greenway
- Rt. 606 Old Ox Rd
- Rt. 607 Loudoun County Parkway
- Ramp G to 267 West from Eastbound Dulles International Airport Access Highway. All traffic exiting the airport expecting to use Ramp G to 267 West will be rerouted to Route 28 Northbound.
- Traffic exiting the Dulles Toll Road West bound must exit at 9A or 9B to avoid the Dulles Greenway closure.
Drivers should expect delays in the area of Route 607/Loudoun County Parkway and Shellhorn Road. A recommended alternate route is Waxpool Road to Route 772 or Route 28 North to Route 7.
