Police: Combative Suspect Fled Police, Spit on Officer
A Front Royal man was arrested Thursday as police investigated a case of vehicle trespassing in Sterling.

Jermaine M. Murray, 34, was arrested on September 17th for assaulting a deputy who was investigating a report of vehicle trespassing in Sterling, according to Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Two men allegedly attempted to enter a vehicle at 46100 block of Lake Center Plaza around 8 p.m. while the victim and her family were inside the vehicle.
When the deputies located the subjects in the area, Murray was uncooperative as deputies talked with the subject and it was later determined he provided a false name to law enforcement, according to deputies. He, then pushed the deputy and fled from the scene.

He was taken into custody after a brief pursuit but continued to be combative and spat on the deputy, according to law enforcement. He was taken to the hospital for injuries he obtained during his attempt to flee from the officers.
Murray, who is from Front Royal, was charged with three counts of assault on law enforcement, obstruction of justice and providing false ID to law enforcement.

He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. The other subject was charged with being drunk in public.
