STERLING, VA—A man tried the same trick one too many times, and now he's in jail, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Alexander Alago, 32, of Sterling, was arrested last weekend and charged with three counts of felony forging coin/bank notes.

On Saturday, police responded to the 100 block of North Sterling Boulevard at the request of a taxi driver. Seems his passenger, Alago, tried to pay his cab fare with counterfeit money. But the cabbie previously had been duped by the man, and this time he recognized him.

So he contacted police, and when they arrived, Alago promptly was arrested. He was being held without bond.
