Trump Golf Club Visits Spur Concerns About Traffic Disruptions In Loudoun County
Some residents have faced traffic standstills associated with recent President Trump visits to his golf club in Loudoun County.

STERLING, VA — Since President Donald Trump returned to office in January, visits to his golf club in Loudoun County have become more frequent. Some residents have been taken aback by the traffic standstills as the presidential motorcade passes through.
Monday evening was the president's last visit to Trump National Golf Club Washington DC, located in the Lowes Island neighborhood of Sterling north of Route 7.
Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall (D-at large) told residents on social media that Trump would travel from the Leesburg Executive Airport to the golf course in Lowes Island starting around 6:55 p.m. Monday. The county chair said traffic would be stopped along that route, which includes part of Route 7.

Supervisor Juli Briskman (D-Algonkian), who flipped off the Trump motorcade at the golf club during his first term in 2017, was elected two years later in the district where the golf club is located. The supervisor said in a social media post that residents have expressed concerns about Route 7 traffic disruptions and extended road closures in the Lowes Island community.
However, Briskman noted it can be difficult to predict the level of traffic impacts from the presidential motorcade.

"I have discussed with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office any ability to notify the community in advance of these visits," said Briskman. "For security reasons, LCSO cannot forecast travel that is not already in the public domain and does not consistently receive notice from the White House. Additionally, the security and road closure protocol can differ depending on the type of event the President is attending/hosting at his golf course."
Briskman said her office will notify residents of visits impacting traffic when possible. The supervisor encouraged residents to follow the president's daily schedule on Roll Call to check for any Trump National Golf Club Washington DC visits.
The president's visits to the Trump National Golf Club haven't just been for golfing.
Trump held a fundraiser for a MAGA, Inc. Super PAC with a $1 million-per-person dinner, according to USA Today. Monday's visit was a Crypto & AI Innovators Dinner with a $1.5 million-per-person cost. Another event scheduled for May 22 will allow the top 220 holders of the president's $TRUMP token, a meme coin, to attend.
