Vigil To Mark 1 Year After Firefighter Death In Loudoun County Home Explosion
A vigil is being held at the future FF Brown Memorial Park site one year after Firefighter Trevor Brown's death in the home explosion.

STERLING, VA — One year after the home explosion that killed Firefighter Trevor Brown and injured over a dozen other people, the community will come together in his honor. A candlelight vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the future site of the FF Trevor Brown Memorial Park.
Brown, a volunteer firefighter with Sterling Volunteer Fire Company, died while responding to the Feb. 16, 2024 home explosion in the Seneca Ridge neighborhood of Sterling. First responders had been investigating a gas leak before the house exploded. A former employee of the gas company has been indicted in connection to the explosion.
Brown is survived by wife, Laura, and three children. The firefighter's death led to an outpouring of support for Brown's family and Loudoun County fire and rescue. One way the community is honoring brown is the FF Trevor Brown Memorial Park at 347 Silver Ridge Drive, the site of the home explosion. The park is expected to open on July 26.
