See a timelapse of National Park's transformation into a winter wonderland in preparation for the 2015 Winter Classic on New Year's Day.

Preparations are underway to transform Nationals Park into an outdoor ice hockey rink for the New Year’s Day NHL “Winter Classic” game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Washington Capitals.
The first Winter Classic took place in 2008 at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo. Other stadiums that have since served as host to the Winter Classic include Wrigley Field in Chicago, Fenway Park in Boston and, most recently, Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. The last time a Winter Classic game was held at a baseball stadium was in 2012, when Philadelphia hosted at Citizens Bank Park.
