Worker Dies After Trench Collapse At Ashburn Construction Site
The trench collapse trapping a construction worker prompted a large emergency response in an area of Ashburn.

ASHBURN, VA — A worker who was trapped in a trench collapse Thursday in Ashburn has died, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Around 10:59 a.m. Thursday, a significant emergency response went to a construction site in the 19000 block of Belmont Ridge Road, which is near Route 7. According to authorities, the collapse had trapped the worker underground. Loudoun County Fire and Rescue led the rescue effort with support from sheriff's deputies.
The man was extricated from the trench and was taken to the hospital. He was later pronounced dead. The sheriff's office is not yet releasing more information on the man.
