• Matt Cross' time on the school board ends without him (hburgcitizen.com) — Broadway High School is one of only two Rockingham County schools to earn the state’s top “distinguished” rating, even as many other county schools were flagged for needing improvement. At the same meeting, the school board marked the end of conservative member Matt Cross’ term and began planning how to respond to lagging test scores, absenteeism, and upcoming budget decisions.
