Fire Prevention Open House Returns To Burke Volunteer Fire Department
Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is holding a fire prevention open house on Saturday, Oct. 15, a day filled with fun and education.

BURKE, VA — Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is hosting an open house on Saturday, Oct. 15, where residents will get to take tours, talk to firefighters, check out the vehicles, and learn about fire safety and prevention.
The open house, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will include a fire engine driving simulator where attendees can sit in the driver’s seat of the engine and “drive” to a call.
Held to coincide with fire prevention week, the event will be the first open house held by the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department and other fire stations in Fairfax County since 2019. In-person open houses were canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
