Free Family-Friendly Celebration Day Coming To Lake Accotink Park

SPRINGFIELD, VA — The Fairfax County Park Authority is hosting a free, family-friendly celebration at Lake Accotink Park on Saturday, Aug. 26.

Lake Accotink Park Celebration Day will include free amusements, boat rentals, nature hikes, workshops and fishing. Families are also invited to explore the 476-acre park’s trails and scenic views.

The one-day celebration, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 26, is free for all participants and all activities will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. No pre-registration is required for the event.

Free boat rentals will take place from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Carousel rides will take place from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Free mini-golf will be offered from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Nature hikes will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while fishing classes will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fishing equipment will be provided for the fishing class participants.

Lake Accotink Park is located at 7500 Accotink Park Road in Springfield.
