Greenspring Hosts Fraud Prevention & Awareness Expo
The educational event was held in conjunction with National Consumer Protection Week.

Greenspring, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Springfield, Va., held its 8th Fraud Prevention & Awareness Expo on March 7. The educational event was held in conjunction with National Consumer Protection Week (March 2-8, 2025) and National Slam The Scam Day on March 6, 2025.
Supervisor Rodney L. Lusk, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Franconia District, attended the event along with local, state, and national organizations who shared information about consumer issues and tips on how to spot, report, and avoid scams.
The featured panel of keynote speakers were from the Coalition for Insurance Fraud, the Virginia Medicare Patrol, and Attorney Jenn Crane from Odin, Feldman & Pittleman.

Exhibitors included: AARP, Jenn Crane - Attorney, Coalition for Insurance Fraud, Elder Tree Care Management, Fairfax County Consumer Affairs, Fairfax County Department of Adult and Aging Services, FBI, Greenspring Computer Club, Greenspring Security, Greenspring Safety Committee, Greenspring Social Work, Greenspring Village Bridge, Navy Federal Credit Union, SCC Bureau of Insurance, SCC Bureau of Financial Institutions, U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, VA Medicare Patrol, VA Treasury Unclaimed Property.
In addition, the Virginia Department of Treasury searched 109 attendee names for unclaimed property. Of those, attendees found unclaimed monies totaling $15,487.05.
