On September 20, Greenspring, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Springfield, Va., hosted the "Welcome Aboard the S.S. Greenspring – The Best Cruise on Dry Land!" Gala, raising more than $495,000 for the Benevolent Care Fund. Residents often compare life at Greenspring to being on a cruise, and this year's event fully embraced that theme.

The celebration, attended by over 260 guests, featured a cocktail reception, cruise-themed photos, caricature artists, and an elegant dinner with five "Port of Call" food stations. Attendees enjoyed the entertainment and beautiful decorations, including a strolling violinist, an impressive Port of Alaska whale-tail ice sculpture, and a captivating headliner show of "That Old Black Magic" with Keith Spencer.

"We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our residents and community partners who support the Benevolent Care Fund," said Director of Philanthropy Kimberly Nelson. "Thanks to their donations, we are able to ensure that Greenspring remains a home for life for all of our residents, regardless of financial challenges."

The Benevolent Care Fund helps residents who, despite careful financial planning, have outlived their resources. It ensures they can continue living at Greenspring, among friends, while receiving the care they need.

In the lead-up to the Gala, Greenspring's Philanthropy Team and Resident Committee hosted a variety of cruise-themed activities, including "Making Towel Animals," "Napkin Artistry," "Kazoo That Tune," "Trivia," and the "Captain's Champagne Reception," all to support the Benevolent Care Fund.
