Hit-And-Run In Burke Sends Woman To Hospital With Serious Injuries

Witnesses told police that the vehicle that hit the pedestrian in Burke Thursday night and then fled the scene was a white Chevy Tahoe.

BURKE, VA — A hit-and-run seriously injured a pedestrian Wednesday night at the intersection of Huntsman Blvd and Bridle Wood Drive in the Burke area, according to police.

Around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, a vehicle struck a woman at the intersection and then the driver fled the scene, the Fairfax County Police Department said. The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told police that the vehicle was a white Chevy Tahoe with front end damage.

After the hit-and-run, police closed southbound Bridle Wood Drive at Huntsman Blvd to allow its crash reconstruction unit to investigate the hit-and-run.

Shortly before 6 a.m. on Thursday, Bridle Wood Drive reopened to traffic.
