Man Charged With 5 Burglaries In 12-Hour Period In Fairfax Co.: Police

A Fairfax Co. man accused of five burglaries in a 12-hour period, including breaking into a 93-year-old woman's home, was arrested Tuesday.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A man accused of five burglaries over a 12-hour span was arrested on Tuesday, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Angel Argueta Galeas, 22, a Fairfax County resident, was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of grand larceny, one count of petit larceny and several other charges, police said. He is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.

In one of the burglaries, Galeas is accused of damaging the home of a 93-year-old woman. Officers from the FCPD’s Sully District Station coordinated with a local Lowe’s store to get supplies to help the woman secure her home from the damage caused by the burglar.

Lowe’s donated wood and other supplies needed for a temporary fix. A local business, Circle Glass and Mirror in Fairfax, committed to donate the time and resources to permanently fix the woman’s window that was broken by the suspect.

The crime spree began on Monday, just after 8 p.m., when officers responded to the report of a burglary in the 3300 block of Willow Crescent Drive in Oakton. Officers discovered a man entered a residence, took items from the home, and then stole the victim’s Nissan Altima from the garage.

Later that night, around 11 p.m., officers responded to a suspicious person seen near DigiTech-PC Solutions at 7601 Clifton Road in Fairfax Station. As officers arrived at the scene, they saw a man walking away from the business. The man ignored an officer’s commands, entered a car and fled the area.

Officers determined the man had attempted to break into the business and determined he fled in the stolen Nissan Altima.

Around 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the 7100 block of Swift Trails Drive in Fairfax Station for a burglary of an occupied home. The homeowner heard glass breaking and confronted the suspect inside. The man left the home prior to police arrival, police said.

Shortly after, another neighbor called police to report a suspicious vehicle on their property. Officers found the unoccupied vehicle and determined it was the stolen Nissan Altima from Monday night.

At 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday, another homeowner in the 7100 block of Swift Trails Drive in the Clifton area reported they believed someone was inside a building on his property.

Minutes later, a third homeowner called 911 to report a man had broken a window and entered her home. Officers, including a K9 officer, responded to the home and took Galeas into custody, police said.

According to police, additional charges are expected against Galeas in connection with the burglaries.
