Metro School of the Arts Music Theatre Co. Presents Addams Family
Alexandria, Va. Performing Arts Students Debut Live Theatre Production of a Classic Family in Burke, Va.

Metropolitan School of the Arts music theatre students will present The Addams Family, a live theatrical performance, on Fri., Aug. 11 and Sat., Aug. 12 at 7 PM at the Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 9350 Braddock Rd, in Burke, Virginia. To get tickets to watch the comical antics of The Addams Family, go to www.metropolitanarts.org. Cost is $25 per adults and $10 per student.
The Addams Family theatre performance will feature 29 student-actors from the DC area, including Metropolitan School of the Arts and surrounding high schools. The performance is recommended for ages 10 and older, and will be supported by a 12- piece mentoring orchestra, consisting of professional musicians and the top youth orchestra players in the DC area.
The show is directed by Broadway veteran, Mary Robare (noted for Broadway shows like, On Your Toes, Nunsense, A Chorus Line, Little Me, Sing’in in the Rain). Robare is also professor of dance at Shenandoah University in Virginia, while music direction is led by N.Thomas Pedersen of Metropolitan School of the Arts. Pedersen is a nationally acclaimed conductor and producer and former head of music theatre at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

“The Addams Family is comical and pure fun, a light-hearted spin on a kooky family,” said Tom Pedersen, music theatre faculty lead of Metropolitan School of the Arts of Alexandria, Va. “We’re bringing a little Halloween thrill to summertime,” said Pedersen.
As a non-profit organization, Metropolitan School of the Arts relies on the generous donations of sponsors and the community to sustain operations for its daytime and evening programming.
