More Fairfax County Early Voting Locations Open Near Burke

BURKE, VA — As Burke area voters in Fairfax County prepare to cast a ballot in the November congressional midterm election, additional early voting locations are opening.

Fairfax County's Office of Elections opened 13 additional early voting locations Thursday. They join early voting locations at the Mount Vernon Governmental Center (2511 Parkers Lane Alexandria, VA), Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Conference Rooms 2/3, Fairfax, VA) and North County Governmental Center (1801 Cameron Glen Drive Reston, VA).

New early voting locations near Burke are the Burke Centre Library (5935 Freds Oak Road, Burke, VA) and the West Springfield Governmental Center (6140 Rolling Road, Springfield, VA).

Other new early voting locations include:

• Lorton Community Center: 9520 Richmond Highway, Lorton, VA
• Centreville Regional Library: 14200 St. Germain Drive, Centreville, VA
• Great Falls Library: 9830 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, VA
• Herndon-Fortnightly Library: 768 Center Street, Herndon, VA
• Mason Governmental Center: 6507 Columbia Pike, Annandale, VA
• McLean Governmental Center: 1437 Balls Hill Road, McLean, VA
• Providence Community Center: 3001 Vaden Drive, Fairfax, VA
• Sully Governmental Center: 4900 Stonecroft Boulevard, Chantilly 20151
• Thomas Jefferson Library: 7415 Arlington Boulevard, Falls Church, VA
• Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library: 7584 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA
• Franconia Governmental Center: 6121 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA

Hours for all 13 new early voting locations are 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays from Oct. 27 to Nov. 5, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30.

Voting hours at the Fairfax County Government Center are 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30. Hours for the Mount Vernon Governmental Center and North County Governmental Center are 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30.

An acceptable form of identification is required for in-person voting in Virginia. Curbside voting is an option for people 65 or older or with a disability.

The only election for Burke area voters on Nov. 8 will be the 11th congressional district race between incumbent Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Fairfax) and Republican challenger Jim Myles.

Voters who received a mail-in ballot have the choice to return their completed ballot at drop boxes during early voting hours at the early voting locations. A 24/7 secure drop box is also available outside the Fairfax County Government Center, as well as at all polling places from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 8.

Oct. 17 was the deadline for voter registration and updating a voter's address. Voters who do not update their registration before the Oct. 17 deadline can cast a provisional ballot on Election Day through the same day registration process.

If you are voting on Election Day, Nov. 8, you can visit your assigned polling place with an acceptable form of identification from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. To check your polling place, visit vote.elections.virginia.gov.
